Since Färjås Yoga Retreats was founded in 2012, we have welcomed many hundreds of visitors. Some have come for week-long yoga instruction, others travel from afar for a weekend of silence. Some stay here for a month or two to read or write a book, and others live here full-time for a shorter or longer period of their lives. Some have stayed here as overnight guests while others have come for a music concert or dance performance.
Färjås is constantly evolving, walking a fine line between the needs of the individual and those of society, and the thousand-year-old wisdom of yoga. We are happy to collaborate with other forces in society, without compromising our fundamental goal: to offer meaningful contexts for both individuals and the community, based on each person's spiritual longing to find and develop their full potential.
Färjås is located between the nature reserves Vallda Sandö and Hördalen, secluded along the mountain with the forest behind us and views over the coastal meadows and the sea.
Färjås is situated on an old monastery estate, and many medicinal herbs grow freely in the wild. The area is full of healing and sacred history, with Bronze Age graves and the 'Parish Priest's Healing Spring' just around the corner.
Färjås Yoga Retreats actively participates in preserving the area's natural values and establishing regenerative farming and environmentally friendly animal husbandry on the land, in collaboration with the County Administrative Board, the West Coast Foundation, and local farmers.
As part of Färjås Community Farm, we grow vegetables and herbs, keep bees, chickens, sheep, a cat, and a dog. We gather firewood from the forest and only use environmentally certified electricity.
Craftsmanship and the ability to co-create with nature permeate life and growth at Färjås Yogaretreats.
Esoteric yoga insists that creation is not only completely real, but also that it is our foremost teacher, who can lead us home to our own ultimate freedom.
Based on the tantric principles as the underlying warp of life, we constantly strive for deeper self-knowledge and transformation.
For us, health and wholeness are linked to the sacred. By simply putting the highest at the top, a lot of things fall into place in life. We believe that everyone can find it in their own life, in their own innermost space.
The monastery is the place where the exploration of life's mysteries is given optimal conditions, and everything that is done is directed towards the same spiritual deepening. The monastery is independent of the worldly, and it is precisely for this reason that it can manage and refine knowledge for the benefit of all sentient beings.
Färjås Yoga Retreats offers full-time accommodation for 2-4 people who wish, for a shorter or longer period, to fully dedicate themselves to their practice and a life in harmony with yogic principles. Monastery living is very demanding and always begins with a trial period. If it goes well, you are offered monastery accommodation, where you participate in maintaining and developing our various activities.
Färjås Yoga Retreats is based on the same four cornerstones - spirituality, art, social engagement, and health - just like countless monasteries around the world and throughout history.

Esoteric yoga, tantra, and meditation are the foundation of Färjås Yoga Retreats, where we also study Runes and ancient Norse esoteric traditions.
Since the Corona years, we do not have classroom teaching, but you are always welcome for discussions and shared practice.

Art and creativity are the language of the soul! Our longing to create, refine, and find expression for the inexpressible has always been revered in authentic spiritual traditions.
Monthly Sivaratri celebrations, the Färjås Festival, collaborations with the Culture Temple, the Swedish Church, concerts, dance performances both at Färjås Yoga Retreats and in other contexts.

It is in our nature to engage in each other's well-being. Community - sangha - is a natural part of yoga, and a commitment to a world in which we can all grow, based on true principles and timeless perspectives.
Collaboration with the human rights organization Soteria International, European Network Against Racism (ENAR) on freedom of thought, freedom of conscience, and freedom of religion.

Health is not the absence of disease, but the state that allows us to grow and flourish fully, connected with wholeness and the sacred
Green rehab, retreats, workshops, and do-it-yourself products related to herbal medicine; herb walks; collaboration with William Tea Ceremony, the County Administrative Board, and the West Coast Foundation on nature and cultural conservation within the framework of Färjås Community-Supported Agriculture.
